04/08/2011   The Spring brings things...yes thats right ...The Easter Bunny is leaving  little brown eggs all over your lawn. Wait...those arent eggs !  Sorry...we'll be over this weekend to scoop that up, after we make a necessary call. Anyway.....

We are returning to 2 clubs that we havent seen in a while. Lou's Cafe is always a packed house and a lot of fun...and in Warwick, Nostalgias should have all of our local Warwick fans partying ! We havent been there since December of last year. hope to see you at both places !

On April 29th a new RI club will open its doors. The ROCK HOUSE  located at 731 Centre of New England Blvd (exit#7 95South)  has the appearance of a Hard Rock Cafe. The owner is Henry Ottaviano from Balls Sports Bar, and he has put in many days of hard work...theres a huge stage and dance floor...a kitchen, game room, a large and unique bar, house sound and lighting, plenty of seating and parking. This place is gonna rock !!! Cant wait...our first appearance will be opening weekend on Saturday night April 30th....Dont forget !! Lets support a great guy and his new rock and roll club...its just what RI needed !!

01/30/11         Its been a long time since we last updated the Sender News. We had a great 2010....but  we're already thru January,2011....and the month of February is upon us. We finally return to The Rocky Point Pub in Warwick. Its been several years, and a lot of requests to go back...we are ready to totally rock the joint !!  We will be there this Friday, Feb 4th. Get there early !!  You know every month we go down to NK and play at the All American Bar & Grille.  Also, in February, we return to Strikers, Narragansett Cafe, and Mardi Gras...with a band called Inside Out.

In case you didn't know...February 20th is the 2nd Annual MidWinter Meltdown down at the Ocean Mist !!  If you came down last year, you already know what to expect...Once youre inside the club, you forget all about snowstorms and shoveling, and it feels like a hot, summer day at the beach...bikinis, speedos, beers, shots, lots of dancing, and forgetting about the cold for awhile !  This is an afternoon gig...3:00pm to 6:00 pm. No cover....so c'mon down !! We'll have some bumper stickers, and other surprises for ya !

10/10/10       A lot has happened since we last spoke...uh ...corresponded...whatever ya call it.  We went thru the summer of 2010...and it flew by, because this summer was excellent !! The Ocean Mist on Sunday afternoons were awesome !!  The big news of course...for those of you who havent seen us in a while....Michael Gabriele has left us to pursue other ventures...we miss him and hope everything goes well ........ Mikey is a true talent and great friend ! His replacement is Rick Santoro, keyboardist and vocalist...He is best known for being the keyboard player for Strutt for 20+ years, but more recently  has been with Alter Ego/Conviction...playing all the local haunts... Rick officially started with us on Oct 2nd...but as many of you know...he has been playin' with us all thru September...whenever he wasnt working with Conviction....so if you haven't been down to see us yet....when you do...make it a point to welcome Rick into the Sender family !!...

THIS MONTH....We already made the trip to Lou's Cafe in Manville, and Ball's Sports Bar...the rest of the month includes Nostalgias,  MardiGras (with Poison tribute band - Flesh n Blood), All American Bar &Grill,  Club 505(Sharx Bar &Grill),  and last, but not least....a return to Coventry...a Halloween party on Saturday, Oct 30th at Strikers (formally the Sandy Bottom)

04/14/2010      Hey...Spring is here !!   Feels real good  !!   In case you missed it,  the Midwinter Meltdown at the Ocean Mist  in February was quite the party....... All of our friends showed up with that summer mentality that was needed to forget about winter for a day.... Can't wait for summertime at the Mist. It will be here before you know it.   Also,  earlier this month we returned to  JR's Mardi Gras  after a long three year absence.  Again all of our friends showed up,  and we rocked the joint !!   We will be back on  Friday,  April 16th......  Mercy Bullets will open for us......   and for the trivia minded fans out there,  this is the first time ever for the Senders headlining a Mardi Gras gig !!   So we ask again for your loyal support, cause we plan on kicking some major ass !!!!THIS  JUST  IN  !!  SENDERS at the  ALL- AMERICAN  THIS  SATURDAY  APRIL 3RD... WE'RE  CUTTING  OUR  VACATION  SHORT... CAUSE  WE  JUST  LOVE  TO  PLAY !! In April we will also return to  Balls Sports Bar  in Cranston  and the  Narragansett Cafe  ......  so we hope to see you soon !!  As always,  click on any of the links  in this paragraph to go to the clubs website !

02/01/2010   Well its a new year, and already January is gone. Not too much snow, but cold as hell.  Dave and Paul went down to Jamestown to catch the Penguin Plunge...lots of people this year...and even in this terrible economy, the Penguins were able to raise $50,000 for Special Olympics !!  They always do a great job of fundraising, but this year was really impressive. Congrats to all involved. 

The Sandy Bottom closed without notice. We didn't get to say goodbye to some of our friends that worked there....enough said about that.  On Feb 6th we will return to the Newport Blues Cafe...doesn't matter if its cold out...c'mon down...its a cool place to play, and in the winter months  parking is a lot easier.  Also later in the month, Feb 26th we return to the Narragansett Cafe... we played there in December and it was a blast !!  

    The biggest   party of the month     is coming........ Feb 21st,  Sunday  afternoon at the  Ocean Mist  from 3pm - 6pm  !!  Kevin is thinking about making the Midwinter Meltdown an annual event...this is the first one !!  If you have been to the Mist during the summer on a Sunday afternoon, you know what a blast this is gonna be !!  We don't expect any bikes, but we do need to see beach attire such as tanktops, shorts, bikinis...you need a break from the long cold winter, and so do we !!  We don't have all the details yet. What we do know ... The Mist serves breakfast until 2pm , and there is no cover charge. There will be some giveaways (drinks, t-shirts, etc) for  anyone (male or female) wearing a Sender's tanktop or bikini...The boys in the band are hoping for the latter !!!

05/14/09  Here are some special dates to look for this year ! 

The Newport Blues Cafe has booked us into the summer months...The next time in is  August 21st...This place is a load of fun !!  Last summer at the Ocean Mist was so amazing, that Kevin  decided to give us 4 Sunday afternoon dates this year - 2 in July - 1 in August - and 1 in September on Labor Day Weekend  !!   We can't wait...the 4 B's .....Beach, Beer,  Babes,  Bikes !!

Lou's Cafe in Manville... Effin's in Smithfield...  and The Narragansett Cafe are 3 more clubs we will try out....We will keep ya posted !!

10/02/08      We had such a great time at our party... we're still smilin'....and that was a month ago !!   Everyone  had a ball.... they suggest we do this kind of party once a month....  Ha !!  We had lots of help.... and we really appreciate everyone who gave their time and effort....you all know  who you are....thank you !!!  Also... what a great band ....Erik Narwhal was a blast ....thanks to Tim, Steve, and Mike....hope we can get together again, soon !!!  It was so good to see some of the former members, and have them get up to perform !!   Scott Marshall and Chris Wheeler couldn't make it , 'cause they had gigs !!  And, of course....a shout-out to our "mate" Steve...I'm sure he was smilin' too !!! .... There is a picture page posted....check it out !!!  

    We  have a couple of special shows  coming up this season..... ** Sunday,Oct 12th is the  3rd Annual Bike Run  for Make-A-Wish Foundation  in memory of Robert Kilner Jr.  at The Sandy Bottom (11 am bike run  / 1pm  band starts)    ** Friday Oct 31st   is a great big  Halloween Party at OKIE's...   be creative....   prizes for the best costumes  !!    ** Wednesday, Nov 26th  is Turkey Eve  at the All American...get  there early and bring your own turkey !!  And finally, we have a NEW CLUB ALERT !!!    ** Friday, Nov 28th we will invade The Newport Blues Cafe !!  Don't let the name mislead you.... this is a great rock club...and if we make a good impression....this may become a steady gig for us...and that would be great in the summer months !!!   Hope to see ya soon !!!

08/02/08   This is the 25th year anniversary for the band...and on Saturday, September 6th  we will be having a huge party !  * hot and cold buffet*  * Erik Narwahl and the Manatees*   We will have many of the previous members there, and have them perform for ya.  The party will be held at the Knights of Columbus on Sandy Lane in Warwick.

02/23/08       On our Myspace page  we added several songs to the list...so check it out ...if you like what you hear, you can download them  (just click where it says "download").....   the third installment of  SendersTrek is done....    read up and tell us what you think !!  

On a completely different front - We are trying to determine if this posting of Senders News is being read, and if it is helpful or not. Do you skip right by this, and go to the schedule page, or the picture pages, etc. Any input from YOU would be greatly appreciated...any comments, suggestions (including new songs ), stories relating to the band, or just about anything else, can be sent here for review .
